Laboratoriet

Past experiments

In 2005, The Laboratory started with its first series of experiments entitled: Script Development Methods. This series of experiments was concluded with the conference MEETING # 1. Click here to read more about the conference.

The specific goal of these experiments was to examine and alternative methods of developing manuscripts. To improve the professional standard of theatre manuscripts we approached the experiments from two very different perspectives of the theatre: Part of the experiment examined methods of strengthening the textual and dramaturgical dimension of the visual, physical, non-textual theatre; the other part examined methods of strengthening the visual, physical, theatrical dimension of the text-based theatre.

hamletzar

Colina

The Laboratory and Entré Scenen took part in the European Laboratory Network COLINA – Collaboration in Arts. With a.o. Tanzhaus NRW in Düsseldorf, Dance City in Newcastle and Espaco do Tempo in Portugal.

In May 2009 the Laboratory initiated a pre-project "Colina". This was an experiment involving 4 Nordic artists with one main characteristic in common: Their work reflects, presents or partly includes aspects of both traditional (ethnic) and contemporary (globalised) art forms. For 10 days the artists collaborated, experimented, discussed and investigated the incentive that motivates their artistic work.

The results of the Colina experiment were presented at Entré Scenen on friday, 15th of May 2009.

The experiment “Gorey på tværs” was conducted in collaboration with eKleKtisK teaterproduKtion in 2008. The experiment was an investigation of non-hierarchical interdisciplinary artistic methods that also involved reflections on dramaturgy as an art form, layered processes and a “speed-model”.
