upcoming experiments

The Laboratory’s new series of experiments is called REHEARSAL¤REVERSAL and started in February 2008.

The first experiment “Gorey på tværs” was conducted in February 2008 and was a collaboration with eKleKtisK teaterproduKtion. The experiment was an investigation of non-hierarchical interdisciplinary artistic methods that also involved reflections on dramaturgy as an art form, layered processes and a “speed-model”.

At this moment the Laboratory works on the first stage of an international project leading to a new series of experiments scheduled for autumn 2008 till 2010. In this first, preparatory phase the Laboratory will conduct many interviews with both well-known and upcoming artists from within the European performing arts. The main focus for the interviews lies on the rehearsal process as seen from an international and cross-disciplinary perspective. The interviews will eventually be part of a knowledge bank presenting different methodical considerations and views upon the rehearsal process.
The next stage of the project consists of putting ideas into practice. The Laboratory will design a number of experiments that will plunge into a specific issue based on the interviews; e.g. a recurrent problem, wish or thought. The experiment will map both know and unknown territory; the common problems, their possible solutions and perhaps even uncharted roads in utopian areas.

Colina

The Laboratory and Entré Scenen take part in the European Laboratory Network COLINA – Collaboration in Arts. With a.o. Tanzhaus NRW in Düsseldorf, Dance City in Newcastle and Espaco do Tempo in Portugal. New international artistic laboratories are in the process of being created. More info on Colina will follow.
